Educate, Advocate and Serve
Hello, my name is Kowjuana Ross-Kirkland.
I am the Founder & Executive Director of Love My Life, Inc., an Educator, Youth Advocate, and a leader in Community & Family Empowerment. With a strong background in Education and Community Health Work, I am dedicated to uplifting those who have faced injustice, discrimination, alienation, tragedy, or violence.
My passion lies in community engagement, advocacy, and capacity building.
With over 35 years of experience as a dedicated business owner, I have cultivated skills and insights that have allowed me to make a meaningful impact in various fields.
My career in education has been both rewarding and diverse. I have served as a Literacy Specialist in the Sacramento Unified School District, where I worked diligently to enhance students' reading and writing skills. Additionally, I have contributed to the Elk Grove Unified School District's Special Education program, supporting students with unique needs and helping them achieve their fullest potential.
As a proud mother of two and a wife for over 40 years, my commitment to family and community has always been a cornerstone of my life. My leadership journey includes coaching softball at T.R. Smedberg Middle School in Elk Grove, California. I have also had the privilege of serving as a two-term president of the Florin Girls Softball League and as the President of the South Sacramento Raiders Football League. These roles have enabled me to foster a sense of teamwork and sportsmanship among young athletes.
In recognition of my contributions, I received a Resolution from the Southgate Parks and Recreation for my outstanding community work—an honor that highlights my dedication to making a difference.
Driven by a desire to empower at-risk communities, I founded the non-profit organization Love My Life, Inc. Through this initiative, I strive to provide resources, support, and opportunities for individuals to thrive and realize their potential.
I align my skills with the opportunity to Educate, Advocate, and Serve. I invite you to join me in this journey of empowerment and change. Let's work together to build stronger, healthier communities. Please feel free to reach out to discuss how we can collaborate or if you'd like to know more about my work and how you can support our mission. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/
